Arsenal are said to be interested in Seria A stars Mauro Icardi and Marcelo Brozovic as Arsene Wenger looks to boost his chances of winning the Premier League. Arsenal have been linked with moves for the two for a long time and it seems that Wenger is ready to get his wallet out this time.

While Argentina’s Icardi will add to Arsenal’s attacking options, Croatian Brozovic will be assigned the duties of a defensive midfielder. The two are likely to cost Arsenal £50million.

Speaking to Corriere dello Sport Italian agent Vincenzo Morabito has made the claim in saying that Wenger will dip into his pocket in a bid to ensure Premier League glory this season. “Yes, [he is interested in them] especially the second [Brozovic].

“Maybe something will happen because Wenger feels that this may be the right year to win the Premier League.”

Wenger has already confirmed the signing of Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny and signing him and Brozovic in the same window is very un-Wenger like. Mauro Icardi, last season’s Serie A top-scorer would bolster Wenger’s options up front but getting a deal done at this point in the season would be tough. Arsenal have most of their first-team players on the sidelines and Wenger would be hoping for their quick returns if Arsenal don’t manage to get these deals done.

Like Arsenal, Inter are also in with a chance of winning the title in their league and it is virtually impossible that Inter would be willing to do a deal for either of them . Inter are believed to be more open to selling Fredy Guarin .

While Arsenal currently sit at the top of the table, Inter are just 2 points behind Napoli in third.
