This season will be probably the most important time in Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe’s managerial career as according to reports he is high up on Arsenal’s shortlist as they look for a long-term successor for Arsenal Wenger.
The 38-year old is seen as one of the most exciting manager in the Premier League after guiding the Cherries to the top flight via two promotions in three seasons. And everybody is reportedly keen on how Howe performs this season after surviving the relegation battle last term.
According to reports in the The Mirror, he will have a managerial audition in the coming next months as Arsenal are keeping a close tab on him especially after signing Arsenal Wilshere.
The Arsenal midfielder was being chased by some giants like AC Milan and AS Roma, but Howe’s capture of the England international has made the rest of the Premier League sit up and take notice. Wenger has struggled to get the best out of Wilshere, mostly due to injuries, so the Gunners will look to see if Howe can help him finally show his true potential. The report claims that Arsenal also likes Howe’s style of football, determination to bring young players through and calm nature.
With Wenger in the final year of his contract, a good performance might land Howe at the Emirates. Wenger, who will reach 20 years in charge at Arsenal next month, is already under immense pressure to achieve silverware this season especially after spending big in the summer transfer. The Gunners are without a Premier League title since their 2003/04 Invincibles campaign, winning just two FA Cups since then. And a performance like the previous season can see the French tactician losing his job.
Another manager on Arsenal’s radar is reportedly Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel, who replaced now-Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp at the Bundesliga club in 2015.
