Arsene Wenger has not been the busiest managers in the transfer windows this season and his legacy has continued this January.
However the fans had some good news this evening as it was reported that long term transfer target for the club is set to be free for a transfer at the end of the season.
The Daily Telegraph has reported that Victory Wanyama will be sold by Southampton and that the player has failed to sign a new deal with the club. It is no secret that London clubs Arsenal and Tottenham are long term admirers of the players and will surely fight it out for the Kenyan international.
Wenger bolstered his mid-field with the signature of Elneny from FC Basel last week and is understood to be keen on brining Wanyama to Emirates. Wanyana was scouted by the Gunners since his days at Celtic and as recent reports suggest, the London franchise might finally be able to acquire his signature.
Playing in the Champions League will be a hug priority for the mid-fielder and Arsenal will be in pole position if Tottenham fail to qualify after their splendid start to the season.
Arsenal look more suited for the mid-fielder with the likes of Arteta, Rosicky and Flamini are reportedly on their way out of the club after seeing out the expiry of their contracts this summer.
Wanyama will surely provide the Gunners will a lot of steel in the mid-field and has the potential to settle into the Gunner’s mid-field without much trouble but it will be upto the manager to try and sign him or wait for a better alternative.
Will Wanyama be a good signing for the Gunners?
