London franchise Arsenal have had a stuttering season this campaign and have not been able to stamp their authority in the domestic league this season.
Over the season, Wenger’s squad has shown a lack of depth at crucial times and this has seen the club linked with a number of potential targets who might make the move this summer.
However, the Gunners are looking to get deals done quickly and are expected to announce the signing of the Portuguese starlet Domingos Quina in the coming days.
The Portuguese national joined Chelsea as a 13-year old from Benfica and has ever since showed great progress at various loan spells.
The 16-year old is regarded as one of the brightest talents in the country and at his age, he will only get better the more he plays competitive football.
He plays in a creative midfield role and has impressed recently for the Portuguese U-17 squad on national duty.
However, he left the Stamford Bridge franchise due to lack of enough playing time and has not committed to the London club for a scholarship.
He apparently went AWOL after refusing to return to training, insisting he was moving elsewhere.
His potential has seen the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur put tabs on him but it is understood that Quina is set to move to Arsenal’s academy in the next 48 hours.
However, the 16-year old cannot sign a professional contract until he is 17 but a deal with Arsenal will guarantee that he will sign one with the Emirates franchise after he attains the age of 17.
This deal when concluded will give the Gunners a victory over the financial superiority of clubs like Chelsea, City and United and they will hope that they can get the best out of the teenager in years to come.
Do you think Quina will get a chance to prove himself at the Emirates?
