Arsenal are reportedly preparing a £21.3 million bid for Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal, according to The Express.

The Chilean International is a box to box midfielder who is currently on national duty with the hosts Chile at Copa America. The 28 year old is dynamic and tenacious midfielder and is very much wanted at Emirates, according to reports. His compatriot Alexis Sanchez, who is a current Arsenal player has been trying to persuade the midfielder to move to Emirates as suggested by the website.

Arturo Vidal has won back to back Serie A with the Turin club in his last two seasons. He also went to the final of UEFA Champions League 2015 with Juventus where they lost 3-1 to Barcelona.

Vidal is acknowledged as one of the best central midfielders in the world currently. He is known for his determination and overall ability to attack and defend equally well. His tackling ability and defensive contribution is very good. His strong sides are also his shooting and finishing. He is the first choice penalty taker for the Old Lady even when they have legendary Andrea Pirlo. He has scored 11 goals in all competitions last season in 44 games for his club. He also made 5 assists. He has an impressive average of 1.9 shots per game.

Arsenal currently has a decent central midfield with Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere, Francis Coquelin, Mikel Arteta and Flamini. But Flamini and Arteta are not the same players anymore. Plus Wilshere and Ramsey have fitness problems. Arsenal are therefore in the market for a good complete midfielder. They were linked with Southampton star Morgan Schneiderlein also but Manchester United are likely to capture him as reports suggest.

Arsenal has already signed goalkeeper Petr Cech from Chelsea in this transfer window and are looking to sign Vidal also. If they get Vidal, they can give a title challenge next season.

Juventus are on the verge of losing Carlos Tevez this summer, and will do all they can to hold onto one of their prized assets.
