Arsenal could land Colombian striker says Arsene Wenger

Colombian and FC Porto star striker Jackson Martinez is in favour to a move for the London based Gunners suggests the latest reports. Having made history with Porto in Portugal, Jackson is considering a move to Premier League.

He openly admitted that he is considering a move away from the Portugese outfit this summer by saying, “In the summer I’ll leave Porto for a new team. Players develop well in Portugal, and I thank the club for making me the player I am today. However, it’s time for a new adventure, to grow from a professional point of view.”

Martinez has 85 goals in 122 games for Porto so far while making to the Portugal team of the year twice and being the top scorer in Portugal this season. He has shown some tremendous consistency having been able to score over 20 goals in the past three seasons.

Jackson have so far scored 25 goals in 29 games across all competitions for FC Porto across all competitions.

Arsenal are one of the main clubs that are considering the striker’s signing seriously as they only have Oliver Giroud as their target man and they don’t have any other striker. Tottenham Hotspurs are also considering a move for the Colombian Striker along with Premier League rivals, Manchester United.

 However with Arsene Wenger high praise for the talented striker, Jackson is now considering to work with the French Tactitian according to the reports. 

“He could play in the Premier League, Jackson Martinez, because he has the body to make the difference. He uses it in a very intelligent way, very short backlift and is a very good finisher,” said Wenger referring to Jackson Martinez.

However Arsenal need to pay £32m if they want to use the services of the Colombian striker, with the likes of United and Spurs interested they also need to act quick to get him.
