Arsene Wenger has held Tottenham Hotspur ace, Danny Rose responsible for the injury to Hector Bellerin. Speaking to the press ahead of the crunch clash against Manchester United on Saturday, Wenger said,”a strong tackle” from Rose Rose during the London derby on 6 November was responsible for the injury and said that the full-back will remain on the sidelines for a month.
Wenger said:“Hector is out for about four weeks.”
“He was injured in the last 10 seconds against Spurs. A very strong tackle from Danny Rose,” he added.
Well, Rose has a history of injuring Arsenal players and this latest setback will not go down well with the Gunners fan. The England international’s challenge at Theo Walcott in 2014, forced the Gunner star to leave the field on a stretcher. Walcott had to remain on the sidelines for a year after suffering a knee ligament injury due to that heavy challenge.
Bellerin, who recently signed a contract extension with the North London outfit, has been ever-present for the Gunners this season before the injury and his absence will be a huge blow for his club which is set to play some big matches in the coming days. Arsene Wenger’s men are set to face Paris St-Germain after the United match. After that, they will take on Southampton in the quarter-final of EFL Cup.
The Spaniard’s injury has left a huge void and Wenger will have to choose from summer arrival Rob Holding and Carl Jenkinson who has returned to the club after two years on loan at West Ham.
Meanwhile, the Gunners will also miss their influential midfielder Santi Cazorla against United while a decision on Alexis Sanchez’s availability will be taken on Friday.
