For all the talk about the transfer window changing Liverpool’s season, Jurgen Klopp has won one in 6 Premier League games this year and the Champions League spot is not completely out of the picture. However this week was significant for the Kop with all the ticket price protests and the apologies from the owners of the club will hopefully lift up the spirits of the squad.
Remi Garde however, made it clear that the visitors on the night will have a hard time if the mistakes at the Carrow Road are repeated. But a Liverpool side, with some big names back from injury will not be an easy game for the Villains as they will be battling for every point on offer for the rest of the season to keep themselves save in the top flight.
Here is the Preview of the game along with the Team News, Expected Line-ups, Predictions and Betting odds.
The Aston Villa vs Liverpool game will be played on Sunday the 14th of November at he Villa Park in Birmingham. The kick off is scheduled at 2:05 pm BST (7:35 pm IST).
Remi Garde is unlikely to make too many changes to his stating line up to the one that beat Norwich City in the previous league game. However, he will have the luxury of Alan Hutton who is now fit coming back from a hamstring problem. However, Jordan Ayew who is suspended, Libor Kozak, Adama Traore and Jordan Amavi are all missing the game against Liverpool. Rudi Gestede and Carlos Sanchez will go through late fitness tests before the game.
Jurgen Klopp will now face a dilemma with four strikers fit for this game against Aston Villa. He might be tempted to start Daniel Sturridge up top or even give Benteke a Villa Park return. Origi who is also fit now can also make the starting line-up along with Phillipe Coutinho who also came back from injury. However, Joe Allen, Martin Skrtel and Dejan Lovren are not fir enough to make this trip to Birmingham.
Bunn; Richards, Okore, Lescott, Cissokho; Bacuna, Gueye, Westwood; Gil, Veretout; Agbonlahor
Mignolet; Clyne, Toure, Sakho, Moreno; Henderson, Can, Milner; Lallana, Firmino, Coutinho
Agbonlahor vs Toure:
The veteran center back will once again be under pressure with the pace and trickery of the Aston Villa striker Agbonlahor who loves to take on the defenders. Toure who impressed in his recent outing will have to be at his best to keep out any threat from the Villa front line if Liverpool are to stay comfortable in this game.
Coutinho vs Okore:
Okore has not had the best time this season at the back for Villa and will be up against a back in form Coutinho who scored against the Hammers in his first outing after injury. If the Brazilian is afforded space and time on the ball, he can hurt the home side and take away all three points from this game.
Liverpool have won 4 of their last six games against Aston Villa.
Aston Villa are unbeaten in their last 4 home games.
Daniel Sturridge has scored four goals in three Barclays Premier League appearances for Liverpool against Aston Villa.
Liverpool have won all 4 of their last visits to the Villa Park.
Liverpool have lost just once in their last 17 visits to the Villa Park.
Aston Villa: 19/5
Liverpool have been leaky at the back recently and will once again have a tough time with a noisy Villa Park at the back of their team. But a close to the full strength front line should do the trick for Jurgen Klopp as he searches for just his second league victory since the turn of the year. However, Villa have looked solid at home recently and might provide a tough fight for the visitors and with nothing to lose, may just take the Reds down to the wire.
