Manchester City wants to unveil Pep Guardiola as their next manager during the pre-season tour of China this summer, according to a report from The Sun.

The Spaniard is believed to be joining City at the end of this season after he announced his intention to manage in Premier League when his contract with Bayern Munich ends in May, he will be reportedly replaced at the Allianz Arena by former Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti.

However, Guardiola has not yet confirmed publicly that Manchester City as his first-choice but the 45-year-old Bayern boss is highly expected to reject late offers from Manchester United and Chelsea as he desires to manage at the Etihad next season.

The Blue outfits of Manchester will visit China as part of their £265m deal which saw Chinese Media Capital purchase a 13% stake last month. According to a report from the Daily Mirror, Pep Guardiola is actually central to their main strategy to break into the Asian market.

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola’s wife was reportedly given a VIP tour of St Bede’s College in Manchester. His wife Cristine has already checked out schools for their three children. She was reportedly accompanied by the wife of City director of football Txiki Begiristain.

Interestingly Guardiola in his previous clubs has seen that out managing a handful of tough opponents will see him kiss the silverware, but the scenario totally changes in Premier League as he will have to outperform over half the league. Pain in the ass definitely!

The Spaniard may be capable of doing just that, what’s needed from him. He is surely a tactical genius, a mastermind to read the game; not only that, he has earned the respect from world-renowned footballers at every single stop (Barcelona and Bayern Munich). High-profile players would love to play under Guardiola at Manchester City. He also would be bolstered with his own calm and composed reputation along with never ending resources at Etihad which would be a wonderful combination to equal great success.

Despite Manuel Pellegrini believed to be leaving in the summer, the Chilean manager still has a huge ambition to win a quadruple this season. Manchester City are still this season’s Premier League title contenders, already through to the knock-out rounds of Champions League, safely into the fifth round of FA Cup where they will fight against Chelsea and all set to face Liverpool in the Capital One Cup final.

Kelechi Iheanacho scored a stunning hat-trick as the Citizens defeated Aston Villa in the FA Cup this weekend with Raheem Sterling adding a fourth one at Villa Park.
