Barcelona Chiefs In Portugal To Complete The Signing Of Portuguese Full-Back
Luis Enrique, the former Barcelona boss, won some serious titles in his time at the Camp Nou, including an incredible treble in his first year in charge of the Spanish side.
The Spanish manager, however, failed to lift the league title or the Champions League trophy last season, which saw him quit his job at the Camp Nou after the end of the previous season.
But Barcelona wasted no time in finding his heir and decided to appoint former Athletic Bilbao manager Ernesto Valverde at the helm of the club for the next couple of the seasons.
The new manager is already busy in trying to add some quality to the squad at the Camp Nou but Barcelona are yet to complete their first signing of the summer.
They will need to add some top class players if they are to win back the bragging rights from their Bernabeu rivals and one player now close to a move to Catalonia is Nelson Semedo.

Barcelona to finalise the deal
The Catalan giants are looking for a genuine right back to fill the shoes of Brazilian star Dani Alves, who quit the club last summer.
The likes of Sergi Roberto and Aleix Vidal failed to have the kind of an impact expected of them last season and Valverde is desperate to add a genuine right back who can walk into the first team next season.
The Benfica star Semedo looks to be the perfect fit for the system at the Camp Nou and Barcelona, who were interested in the player right from the end of the previous season, are now closing in on his signature.
Reports suggest that the La Liga side made a €30m bid for his services which was rejected.
But According to Marca, Robert Fernandez and Javier Bordas travelled to Lisbon on Thursday to negotiate with Benfica for the purchase of Nelson Semedo.
It is understood that they are ready to pay north of €50m, to secure his services quickly and wrap this deal up, before they travel to their pre-season tour to the US.

Hector Bellerin the next choice
However, both teams are yet to strike a deal for the player and Barcelona want to make sure that they have a decent backup they can fall to, is they are not able to land Semedo this summer.
And Arsenal star Hector Bellerin seems to be the man Valverde wants if he misses out on the Portuguese international.
Bellerin is a slightly more expensive option but is he a better option than Semedo?
