FC Barcelona’s star attacker Pedro Rodriguez might move out of Nou Camp this season to join Premier League champions Chelsea FC, according to Initially Pedro Rodriguez’s future with the club was initially doubted when he was speculated to move out of the club after the previous season. But last month he along with Jordi Alba extended his contract at the club which would keep him untill 2018/19 season. Several top clubs which include the likes Arsenal and Liverpool were interested in signing Pedro but his contract renewal with club halted those specultion.

Now suddenly the transfer talks have stimulated as Premier League champions are reportedly interested in signing the player. Pedro went for holiday during pre-season and Barcelona manager Luis Enrique had assured him that he will get a bigger role at the club. But the Spanish media is now claiming that in the recent times, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho and fellow Spaniard Cesc Fabregas have called him to convince the player to join the Blues.

Pedro is now seriously considering a move to London. His contract has a €30 million release clause and the Blues are ready to match that to bring him home. It is now upto the La Liga champions to decide whether they would sell the player untill January when they can officialy register their new signings.

From Chelsea’s point of view Pedro will be their first major signing this summer. He can prove to be vital one as Mourinho prefers hard working players. Pedro’s joining will surely bolster the star studded Chelsea squad but will spell doom for Oscar who might get relegated to the bench.

FC Barcelona most likely would not create much problem in this deal. Pedro have served the club for 7 seasons and always remained as a second string player at the club. Chelsea move will benefit him personally as he would love to have game time before next year Europa Cup.
