The business end of the tournament is almost upon us as nut we do nowhere near know who will lift the Premier League at the end of this season. From Arsenal’s comeback against Leicester to Liverpool’s thrashing at Villa, this week had a number of brilliant performances as the points table all around had some changes.
Here is the team of the week for the 26th round of fixtures in the Premier League:
Fraser Forster (Southampton):
The shot-stopper kept his 6th consecutive clean sheet in the 1-0 victory against Swansea City this weekend. He has been sensational since his return from injury.
Nathaniel Clyne (Liverpool):
The Liverpool defender had a dominating display as he completed 44 passes and scored a goal in the 65th minute to add to the clean sheet at the back in a complete day for the right back.
Kolo Toure (Liverpool):
The cult hero at Liverpool got his first goal in a Red shirt as he planted a header past a helpless Villa keeper. With a passing % of 93, Toure was just on top of his game on the night.
Lamine Kone (Sunderland):
The match winner for Sunderland on the night as he scored the winning goal and was also solid at the back in the back end of the game when United piled on the pressure.
Danny Rose (Tottenham Hotspur):
Bombing up and down the flank, Rose had one of his best games in a Tottenham shirt as the Citizens found it hard to contain him on the flank.
Wahib Khazri (Sunderland):
Was instrumental in Sunderland’s comeback against Manchester City as he scored a goal and assisted the other to see off the Old Trafford outfit.
The brightest player for Chelsea in the 5 goal rout against Newcastle United, Willian got himself a goal and also ran the game at his pace after settling in.
Phillipe Coutinho (Liverpool):
Coming back from injury for his first start in the league for over a month, the Brazilian playmaker showed no signs of rustiness as he provided 2 assists in the 6-0 win at Aston Villa.
Dimitri Payet (West Ham United):
Payet, who signed a contract extension with the cub has been a level apart at Upton Park and continued his good work with a goal and an assist against Norwich City.
Christian Eriksen (Tottenham Hotspur):
Eriksen just ran ragged at the Manchester City defense at the Etihad as the home side had no answers to his pace and skill in the final third. He was always creating chances and scored the winning goal on the night.
Troy Deeney (Watford):
The Watford striker scored 2 goals from 5 shots on target in the victory against Palace this weekend. He has been a regular goal scorer for his side and was the difference between the two sides on the night.
