The former Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho has been very keen to return to management but with specific options only and Man United or Paris, St-Germain was rumored to be his possible destination for next season. But the English media has shocked all the fans as they report there are links between Everton and Jose. The Merseyside blues are eyeing Mourinho in case they decide to ditch Roberto Martinez, having ambitious billionaire investor Farhad Moshiri on the board already.

David Moyes is also considered to be a candidate who could return to the Goodison Park, who managed the club for 11 years before leaving for Manchester United– if under-pressure 42 years old Goodison chief, loses his job this summer. There is also some interest in Southampton manager Ronald Koeman and Ajax’s Frank de Boer, reports DailyStar. With odds being slashed from 50-1 to 12-1 in Mourinho’s favour from the bets of the bookmakers in Merseyside, Jose certainly looks to be the one.

Everton’s increased financial muscle through Moshiri makes sure that Jose’s appointment won’t be a problem, not at least a financial one. The Portuguese wants £12 million a year deal and currently, everything looks to be in Everton’s side. FA Cup semi-final against Man United at Wembley, is the key to Martinez’s survival at the club. Everton are in search for the last piece of possible silverware which they can still win, and Roberto Martinez is leading them.

Everton fans have high hopes for the team and the manager too. If the Toffees win the semi-final and continue to lift the FA Cup, Martinez will probably be able to survive and save his job to stay at the Goodison for the next season. 21 years ago Everton last won the FA Cup by a 1-0 win over Manchester United, so if the Goodison chief is to keep his job, he will have to end the 21-year run.
