Big Breakthrough: Jurgen Klopp Talks On Speculations Of Lucas Leiva’s Exit

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has refused to speak on the ongoing transfer speculations on midfielder Lucas Leiva.
The 29-year old has fallen down the pecking order this season under Jurgen Klopp as the German manager has finally found the right balance in the team. This has seen the Brazilian’s chances in the first team get more restricted as he is limited to bench most of the time.
With his future up in the air at Anfield, Italian giants Inter Milan are keen to make a swoop for the midfielder. The player has only made three starts in the Premier League so far this season and 11 appearances across all competitions and is keen to have more playing time under Jurgen Klopp this season.
However, he could not be guaranteed any position in the squad as the young Liverpool team is making headlines with an incredible amount of success this season so far in the Premier League after a slow start to their campaign in the initial weeks of the season.
When asked about the future of Lucas Leiva at the club, Klopp admitted he cannot speak on the speculations until something is concrete to say.
‘When it is not speculation then there will be something to say,’ he told BBC Sport.
The manager went on to praise his team for their character to win against Stoke City 4-1 after being down at 1-0.
‘We then scored a wonderful goal and then the second one,’ he said.
‘We regrouped again and told the players that the movement was not as good as it could be and we controlled the game.
‘It was pretty clear Stoke cannot play the same half again. It was intense for them, they pressed high and were aggressive. We did better with the ball and deserved this result.’
The Reds are currently in the second position in the Premier League and their absence in Europe meant Lucas Leiva might not many chances in the first team this season. Liverpool might well send the Brazilian away as Inter Milan are keen only on a loan deal till the end of the season.
