Arsenal were dealt yet another blow in their pursuit of a star striker this summer after reports emerged earlier today that Columbian international Carlos Bacca may be on his way to the Premier League but not to the Emirates.

Reports from Italian media reveal that AC Milan has accepted €30m offer for the player a while ago and that the player was stalling on a move having not been impressed with the offerings at the Olympic Stadium.

He turned down a number of clubs previously to stay at Milan and search for a proper club that can offer his Champions League football but it is now understood that a move to West Ham may be on the cards after West Ham increased their wage deal to €4.5m per year.

It was also revealed that the English outfit added € 2 million to their previous € 30 million bid and this figure is said to have attracted the 29-year old who is now reportedly on the verge of moving away from Italy.

In a tweet, late Wednesday night, the son of West Ham owner David Sullivan announced the deal.

“We have agreed to a fee with AC Milan on Bacca and he has said, he will tell us in the next 48 hours if he is coming!!” wrote Jack Sullivan.

Most of the negotiations are expected to surround the fact that West Ham are not able to provide Champions League football but their lucrative offer may just be enough to lure the Columbian to the Premier League this summer.

West Ham owner David Sullivan opened up about this move and said, “Our search for a new forward has been well-documented and we have been working hard to negotiate moves for some big name strikers,”

“Ideally, we would have had someone in place by now but sadly that has not proved to be the case and the forwards we have targeted want to play Champions League football. Whatever deal we offer to that player, if he wants Champions League football he will not come to us,” he added.

If these words are to go by, West Ham are still waiting for an official word from the striker and if the move does happen, Arsenal will feel hard done by.

The Gunners launched an initial bid of a similar amount which was rejected by the Italian outfit earlier in the summer and with the likes of Atletico Madrid and Sevilla also interested in his signature, it comes as a shock that Bacca is favorites to join West Ham United.

But Slaven Bilic has accumulated a decent squad at the club and will be hoping to lure Bacca to his club to add some firepower before the start of the next season.
