Manchester United have been dealt yet another transfer blow after the Brazilian right-back Dani Alves has decided to extend his stay with Barcelona.
As per Marca, Barcelona have persuaded Dani Laves to stay for further 2 years, with an option to extend his stay to the third year.
With that, hopes of Manchester United signing the attacking full-back has been put to rest. Various sources had claimed that Alves had signed a pre-contract with the Old Trafford. As it turns out, Alves is set to stay with Barcelona for coming 2 seasons.
Every one including Dani Alves’s own team mates were convinced of his exit from the Catalan club. Neymar had posted an emotional farewell message for his International teammate on his Instagram account.
In wake of Alves leaving the club, Barcelona had signed Sevilla’s Aleix Vidal who is also a right-back. Vidal since joining Barcelona made a plea with Dani ALves to stay with Barcelona and it looks like his pleas has been heard by the Brazilian.
Amid, Alves’ extension, United must look elsewhere to find proper replacements for their right-back situation.
