This may come out as a bad news for all those Liverpool fans who were expecting their former captain, Stevie G to return, because the Englishman has snubbed off a returning move to the Merseyside club. It was rumored that Gerrard would make a possible return to Anfield in the January transfer window. Now, Stevie has confirmed that he has totally ruled out the idea of a return during MLS offseason.

Gerrard said,

“I’ve retired from the national team so I don’t have to go and prove myself in Europe,” Gerrard told Eurosport International in an exclusive interview.

“I need to get some rest because I’ve got a very long season ahead next year, so it’s very important I come back strong, rested and ready to go again.’’

Gerrard had exited from the Merseyside club to join LA Galaxy but sadly his first season at MLS ended some time ago after the team finished 5th in the Western Conference,

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp claimed weeks ago that he contacted Gerrard via messages which hinted that the former Liverpool leader could join the Reds for the training in Melwood.  but ruled out adding the club legend as a player mid-way through the season.

Gerrard never won a PL title in his 17 long years at Liverpool which any player would regret missing out on. However, he now claims that winning the MLS Cup is his supreme target in America.

So this sums up that the 35 year old legendary midfielder will not be seen at the Premier League again as a player. But coming back someday at Anfield as manager? Well, you never know! Time will say.
