Manchester United have been given fresh hopes of hanging on to their star David De Gea despite reports of the player agreeing personal terms with Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Marca have reported the news of Real Madrid’s £14.4million bid for the player considering he is in to the last year of his contract at Old Trafford and Madrid are confident of signing De Gea even on a free transfer in 2017 as his heart is set on a move to Bernabeu.
All of this conjecture came to a standstill when it was reported by Duncan Castles earlier today as to how De Gea is still not certain of what to do in the summer and he has told his agent Jurgo Mendes to hold fresh talks with Manchester United over the new deal.
As per reports, Manchester United are willing to offer the Spaniard a 4-year contract worth a mega £250,000-a-week wage package and stop him from moving to Bernabeu next season.
There are two other factors which could trigger De Gea’s eventual decision. First being the unfriendly treatment by Louis Van Gaal towards the Spanish speaking players at Manchester United including Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao.
Both superstars have failed to make any impression at the club in their debut season and an exit is looming large over their shoulders as well.
The other reason is Van Gaal’s initial lack of belief in De Gea’s abilities as he wanted to replace the Spaniard and that was the precise reason why Victor Valdes was brought to the club.
However, De Gea has proved his manager wrong by displaying the best season at the club since move from Atletico Madrid and now Van Gaal wants to do everything in his power to keep De Gea at the club
Al of this will be a long-running saga as the two European giants battle over the future of one of the best goal keepers in the world right now, David De Gea.
