Manchester United fans will not be pleased to hear the news that yet another key summer target has turned them down in order to stay with his current club. This time it is the German Bastian Schweinsteiger who has snubbed Manchester United.

Schweinsteiger was among the odds on favorites to join Manchester United in the summer after Louis Van Gaal promised him a guaranteed first team action. 30-year old Schweinsteiger had clearly said that he is considering Manchester United’s offer and his Bayern future in uncertain.

However, in a dramatic U-turn, Schweinsteiger spoke to Sport1 earlier today where he admitted that he will not be joining Manchester United and would like to continue as a Bayern Munich player. Schweinsteiger added his desires of becoming the only player to win 4 Bundesliga titles in a row.

Jan Aage Fjortoft was the man from Sport1 who took this exclusive interview and the journalist was convinced that Schweinsteiger was indeed going to extend his current contract with Bayern Munich.

Are Manchester United becoming the Leverage for big players to get better contract?

Manchester United must be getting worried of their image in the transfer market after several big -name players like Bastian Schweinsteiger, Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos and others are using the Old Trafford club to gain a better contract with their current employees.

A rumor linking a big-name player to Manchester United creates panic at his current club and as it turns out they end up extending player’s contract with improved wages.

This must be looked in to with caution as Louis Van Gaal and Ed Woodward would not want to turn in to a leverage club for the big name players.

What does Schweinsteiger’s snub mean to Manchester United?

However, Schweinsteiger’s snub has cleared the door for United to go ahead and sign Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin. The Frenchman is certain to make his move to Old Trafford in coming few days in a deal worth £25million.
