Arsenal duo Theo Walcott and Santi Cazorla have penned down a contract extension with the club. Walcott whose future with club was under question have finally signed a four year deal and he will get a wage of £140k-a-week. Cazorla time period has not been mentioned yet by the club officially.
Theo Walcott had joined the club in 2006. He was the most promising players in the Arsenal squad but injuries somewhat ruined his growth. He missed most of the actions of the last two seasons to repeatitive injuries. There was cloud of dount over Walcott’s future at the club as the English winger’s position at the starting linuep is not guaranteed. But putting all speculations at halt, Arsene Wenger has finally convinced the player to extend his contract.
After the players’ contract extension Arsene Wenger spoke to the official club webiste. He said: “We’re delighted to have extended the contracts of Santi and Theo. Both are top quality players who are hugely important and influential to our squad.
“As well as their huge contributions on the pitch, they both have a great deal of experience and are very popular off the pitch. We’re very pleased with them both signing contract extensions, as it provides our squad with further stability of quality.”
Santi Cazorla has been a marvel at the club since joining in 2012. He is the most consistent and versatile player in the side. He can use both of his feet equally, scores goal and also plays a game maker’s role when needed. The news of the Spaniard’s contract extension will come as a great boost for the fans ahead of the new season.
