Chelsea are looking to shore up their attacking options over the winter window and are looking at players who can put in the goals regularly for the club as they look to climb up in the table. The list of players is extensive but one which stands out is PSG winger Ezequiel Lavezzi. He is expected to leave the club soon due to Di Maria and Lucas Moura’s usurping of his starting role.
The Argentine is expected to be in demand as he is a proven quality player who guarantees goals but the fact that he is 30 makes his options limited as clubs will know that the can expect no further money from his sale. This makes him a signing which only clubs desperate for goals would want to make and one of them is Chelsea. Here is his agent explaining the media:
“Inter are certainly showing the greatest interest in the player, but there are also many other clubs in Europe keen on him, including Chelsea and Barcelona,” Moggi addressed to Sport Mediaset.
“We are talking to Chelsea.”
“Maybe he will even leave next summer, without forgetting that even PSG have expressed their intention of renewing his contract.” He added.
Chelsea and Inter are expected suitors for the winger as they both need goals and are both first-handedly aware of the threat the ex-Napoli player possesses as they faced him in Champions League and Serie A respectively but the surprise contender is Barcelona who have no utility for the Argentine and will probably relegate him to a bench role just like at his current club.
Amongst the contenders, the most probable outcome is Inter as Chelsea might be looking to keep him as a fall back option if their pursuits of Teixeira and Berahino fail.
