Chelsea handed a major fitness boost ahead of their clash against Arsenal

Chelsea fans can breathe a sigh of relief as Didier Drogba has been passed fit to play in the London Derby against Arsenal.

Chelsea were facing a strikers crisis with Diego Costa and Loic Remy, both ruled out of the game and Drogba was tipped to be a major doubt for the game following his injury from the Manchester United game.

Chelsea have released an official statement just an hour back stating that Drogba will be fit for the Arsenal game this Sunday while Loic Remy faces a fitness test to determine his availability.

Drogba’s fitness would dampen any hopes of Arsene Wenger trying to win his first ever game against Jose Mourinho. Wenger has been winless in 12 of the last premier league meetings against Jose Mourinho.

In the past, Didier Drogba has been the chief destroyer of Arsenal’s defense and with the Ivorian back in the contention to start at Emirates, Arsenal will have to be extra cautious for the game.

Chelsea are just 2 wins away from cinching their first league title in over 4 seasons and with Drogba returning to fitness sooner than expected, one of those two win is expected to come this weekend against an in-form Arsenal side, who have won 8 league games in a row.
