Recent reports suggest that Chelsea are ready to offer Wallace in a swap deal to complete the transfer of Benfica star Nicolas Gaitan. The Blues are long admirers of Argentine Nicolas Gaitan and will use Brazilian defender Wallace as a make weight in the deal.
The 21-year old wallace have signed for Chelsea back in 2013 from Brazilian outfit Fluminense but have not featured in Blues first team. The player is sent on loan to Dutch side Vitesse Arnheim this season.
Gaitan is interested to move to Stamford Bridge but has a release clause around the region of £30million and Mourinho is reluctant to get the player at such higher price.
The Blues want to use Wallace who has a long future as a part of the deal to get Gaitan for a cheaper price as the Benfica play maker would be a key addition to Chelsea’s squad as they look to defend their Premier League title next season.
Blues have a strong record in signing Benfica players as they were able to sign Nemanja Matic in last year and David Luiz back in 2011 whom they sold to PSG last summer.
Wallace could be in a similar situation as Nemanja Matic back in 2011 when he was part of David Luiz deal but eventually to returned to Stamford Bridge last season.
