Chelsea Winger to depart after Pedro signing?

Premier League champions Chelsea FC have successfully roped in FC Barcelona’s star winger Pedro Rodriguez hijacking Manchester United’s transfer move. Pedro’s inclusion is going to be a huge boost for the London club as their midfield gets further strong. While everyone at Chelsea would be happy with the Spanish star’s arrival, it will definitely ring the bells for some of the other player’s at the club.

It seems the Blues have decided to sell one of their star midfielders after Pedro’s transfer deal confirmation last evening. If media reports are to be believed Chelsea are all set to sell Brazilian midfielder Willian this summer and the two club who are in contention to lure his service are European giants Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.

Pedro has been bought for €28 million fixed €2-million bonus. This clearly indicates a departure of any of the big names from the Chelsea midfield. The Spaniard most definitely will be a regular starter at Stamford Bridge as Jose Mourinho himself wanted the star. If Pedro starts it will be either Willian or Oscar who will make way for the player in the starting XI.

PSG have been on a spending spree this summer as manager Laurent Blanc had confirmed that they would restructure their squad. The French giants have already bought Angel Di Maria from Manchester United and Willian’s addition would greatly benefit the team.

Bayern Munich has also bought Arturo Vidal this summer who replaced club legend Bastian Schweinsteiger. It has been a known fact that ageing duo of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery are slowly becoming out of favour at the club. If Willian joins the Bavaria club, he will be great long term replacement of either of the star players.

Jose Mourinho himself had bought Willian two seasons back to add pace into his squad. Willian’s arrival made way for star midfielder Juan Mata’s departure from the club in 2013 winter and the Spaniard joined Manchester United. Willian has always been a manager’s favourite at the club as he is hard working. Thus, it looks a little unlikely that Mourinho would actually agree to sell one of his favourites in the Chelsea squad this summer.
