After losing his first league game in charge of the Stamford Bridge club, Guus Hiddink has a tough test lying ahead this weekend as they welcome a Manchester City squad that has found some good rhythm going into the final few weeks of the domestic season.

Pellegrini’s side will be confident of their victory over PSG but will not find it easy as they have won just once in the last 17 trips to the Stamford Bridge. However, they will be hoping to get a result from this especially after Chelsea lost their first game since the turn of the year last weekend at Swansea City.

Both clubs have some star players to look forward to as this game promises to be a sizzling affair on the night. Here is the preview of this game, along with the team news, predictions, expected line-ups and betting odds:

The Chelsea vs Manchester City game will be played on Saturday the 16th of April at the Stamford Bridge in London. The kickoff is scheduled at 5:30 pm BST (10:00 pm IST).

Team News:

Chelsea face a long list of injuries for this game. Skipper John Terry, Loic Remy, Nemanja Matic, Willian, and Diego Costa are all out for this game while star playmaker Eden Hazard is also not expected to be fit enough to play in this game. However, defender Gary Cahill might be back for this game after recovering from a hip injury.

Manchester City will miss the services of skipper Vincent Kompany who is now back in training but not fit enough for this trip to London. Pacey winger Raheem Sterling might be back in contention for a place in this game after recovering from a groin injury but might only find a place on the bench.

Expected Line-ups:

Courtois; Azpilicueta, Cahill, Ivanovic, Baba Rahman; Fabregas, Mikel; Oscar, Loftus-Cheek, Pedro; Pato

Manchester City:

Hart; Zabaleta, Otamendi, Mangala, Kolarov; Fernando, Toure; Navas, Silva, De Bruyne; Aguero

Key Battles:

Alexandre Pato vs Nicolas Otamendi:

The Brazilian striker found the net for the first time in a Chelsea shirt a couple of weeks ago and will be hoping to keep up his good work against City but he will be up against Otamendi who was superb against PSG recently in the Champions League. This battle has all the makings of an intriguing watch for the fans.

Kevin de Bruyne vs Gary Cahill:

The man of the moment at City, De Bruyne has been in sensational form coming back from injury and found the net against PSG at the Etihad recently. He will be one of the biggest threats for Chelsea on the night and Gary Cahill, who is just returning from injury will straight away be under pressure and will have to be at his best if Chelsea are to get something from this game.

Key Stats:

Chelsea’s defeat by Swansea last weekend ended their 15-match unbeaten run in the league – Guus Hiddink has not lost two league games in a row as a club manager since February 2004 whilst at PSV Eindhoven.

The Blues have never lost at home in the league during Hiddink’s two spells in charge (W6, D7).

However, they have drawn six of their seven league games at Stamford Bridge during his second spell.

City have won consecutive Premier League games for the first time since October. The last time they won three in a row was at the start of the season when they won their opening five games.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side have lost just one of their last seven Premier League away matches (W3, D3, L1).

They have conceded just two goals in their last five league matches. Prior to this run, they had let in eight in three games.

Kevin De Bruyne has now had a hand in 27 goals in all competitions for City this season (15 goals, 12 assists) – a joint-high for the club alongside Aguero.

Betting Odds:

Chelsea: 8/5

Draw: 12/5

Manchester City: 7/4

Chelsea found it hard to break down the Swansea City defense with a weakened line-up and will face the same problem against City this weekend. The visitors will go into the tie as favorites, especially on recent form and we expect Hiddink to taste back-to-back defeats in this crucial game.

Our Prediction: Chelsea 1-2 Manchester City
