Chelsea are planning a third raid on La Liga side Atletico Madrid in less than a year in an attempt to sign the experienced defender Miranda. Marca have reported the news of Chelsea sending their scouts to watch Miranda in Atletico Madrid’s last game against Malaga which they drew 2-2.

In recent weeks, Miranda has been constantly linked with a move to Old Trafford with Louis Van Gaal looking to establish his defensive options but Chelsea have earmarked the experienced defender to join the blues next season.

Jose Mourinho and Chelsea fans are gowingly concerned with the decline in form for Gary Cahill. The Englishman has suffered a huge dip in form and is no longer a guaranteed starter for the club. Kurt Zouma has been pipping Cahill for the start in important games. This has prompted Jose Mourinho to look for another trustworthy defender and Miranda fits the bill completely.

Miranada, 29 is soon approaching the last year of his Atletico Madrid contract and has fancied a move to the Premier League earlier. Chelsea could come back to haunt Atletico Madrid once again with a 15 million bid to sign Miranda. It was not long ago when Chelsea raided the La Liga side to sign their three players Diego Costa, Filipe Luis and Thibout Courtious.
