Arsenal successfully completed Mohamed Elneny transfer 24 hours earlier and as it turns out, Arsenee Wenger is already discussing the posibility completing another deal in the January Transfer Window.
According to Sky Sports, Mathieu Debuchy is in advanced talks to join Aston Villa until the end of this season after having suffocated from the lack of first team action.
Hector Bellerin has been a regular in that role, and to be fair whenever, Debuchy was asked to play, he only disappointed the fans and the manager. Thus it is not a surprise to see the 30-year old Frenchman depart from Emirates this month.
Accordig to reports, Debuchy is wanted by Bayer Levekusen, AS Roma and Aston Villa. However, as things stand, Debuchy is most likely to join Villa as he wants a Premier League stay.
Debuchy’s exit claims were intensified when Villa manager Remy Gerde came out and confirmed his talks with Arsene Wenger concerning Debuchy’s transfer.
Speaking ahead of the game against Leicester, Gerde said: “I had a conversation with Arsene a few days ago about some of the players and Mathieu Debuchy was among these players.
“It’s too early and it won’t help me or anyone to go forward in this style to make too many more comments.”
This all but confirms Debuchy’s move to Aston Villa, which will be made official later next week as Villa aim to fight an impossible battle for their Premier League survival.
