Liverpool have been heavily linked with Danny Ings for a move in the summer. Ings has been courted by several clubs around Europe including Tottenham Hotspur who were willing to table a £12million offer for the striker.
However, despite the big-money bid from Spurs, Independent has reported that Ings favors a move to Anfield and is ready to force his move to Anfield.
As per Independent, Ings is set to meet with Liverpool later this week to discuss the crucial details ahead of his transfer.
Earlier, it was believed that Spurs would get the first chance to talk with the player after deciding a plot a £12million move for the English striker. Ings’ contract is due to expire on 30th June with a whole host of clubs wanting to sign Ings on a free transfer.
Ings scored 10 goals last season with the struggling Burnley side who got relegated in the end but Ings stood out as their stand out performer throughout the season. More than the goals, Ings showed immense maturity in terms of his movements and understanding for a 22-years old player.
Liverpool can only benefit from a signing like Danny Ings as the reds have been struggling in terms of their goal getters. Mario Balotelli, Fabio Borrini and Rickie Lambert combined failed to cross 10-goal mark last season in the league.
Ings would indeed bring more mobility and decisiveness in to Liverpool’s forward play and could give Brendan Rodgers new dimensions to work with. Ings combined with Daniel Sturridge would add definite value to Liverpool’s attack next season.
