Cristiano Ronaldo has followed his debut in Riyadh against PSG in a friendly with another rocking performance on his first ever official appearance for Al Nassr. The Portuguese had completed his move to the Saudi club back in December last year, after being sacked by Manchester United for slamming the club on air in an interview with Piers Morgan.

However, there was no shortage of options for the veteran striker, as Al Nassr signed him immediately on a 2.5 year deal, making him the highest-paid footballer as well as the athlete of all time. But his much awaited debut got delayed due to a couple of reasons and kept him from taking the field for Al Nassr until yesterday against Ettifaq.

Cristiano Ronaldo sparkles on his Al Nassr debut

Cristiano Ronaldo is a treat for the eyes of the spectators, as it was now served for the fans in Riyadh. And they will continue to get to witness the greatness of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, whom Al Nassr signed on a bumper €200m-per-year deal. Ronaldo just proved to the people once again that why his new club is going to spend a whopping €500m on him until his stay there till the summer of 2025.

The former Real Madrid forward was brimming with confidence on his Al Nassr debut, as he captained them against Ettifaq in their Saudi Pro League clash. Ronaldo’s debut had been delayed due to two key reasons, the first being Al Nassr’s already stacked quota of foreign players, which prevented their new signing’s registration. The second being a two-game ban imposed on him by the English FA.

Ronaldo was fined €56,772 and handed a two-game suspension for slapping a phone from the hand’]s of a 14-year-old boy after Manchester United’s 1-0 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park back in April last year. As a result, he had to serve a game’s suspension at Al Nassr after earlier serving one during his time at United. But it was finally Cristiano Ronaldo, leading Al Nassr out of the tunnel against Ettifaq.

The sheer brilliant display put on by the highest international goalscorer of all time in Riyadh was so mesmerising that the crowd couldn’t stop chanting his name. Ronaldo produced 4 shots on target and created 2 chances on his debut, although failing to get on the scoresheet. However, he did lead his team to a 1-0 win and atop of the Saudi Pro League. A compilation of his debut, which included all; the dribbles, the close control, the winning of duels, his electric pace at 37 and an attempted bicycle kick as well.

Its no surprise that Cristiano Ronaldo delivered one of the most iconic debuts, as he had warmed up for it nicely against the visiting PSG team. Ronaldo captained a Riyadh All-Star team which contested the friendly against his arch rival Leo Messi’s PSG, and scored a brace as well in the thrilling encounter which saw 9 goals and the Parisians win the tie 5-4. It was only about time that the Portugal captain produced another scintillating performance on his Al Nassr debut.
