Manchester United have been linked with Porto’s right-back Danilo for last few weeks and the move seems a mere formality now with the player’s agent has flown to Manchester earlier today to negotiate the deal with Old Trafford officials.

Louis Van Gaal has made signing a proper right-back his biggest priority as the club are constantly shuffling between Rafael and Antonio Valencia, with neither doing enough to justify their selection.

Danilo, is one of the finest right-backs in the game and has a release clause worth £37 million. Spanish newspaper Sport Danilo’s agent being in Manchester as both United & Porto are looking to agree to a £29 million fee for the player.

Earlier in the season, Manchester United did send their scouts to several Porto games as it was believed that United were tracking the progress of Danilo and striker Jackson Martinez. For now it seems Van Gaal and United are more keen to find a permanent solution to their issues of right-back.

Danilo has also attracted interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid. Alvaro Arbaloa. Madrid’s choice right-back is keen on a move to Liverpool next season that leaves Carlo Ancelotti’s side with as Carvajal the only right-back option and they are keen on making Porto’s Danilo the latest member of Galactico at Bernabeu.

It clearly means, we could see the giants United and Madrid go head-to-head in yet another transfer battle. United would hope for better results this time as last time I checked, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale have opted to ditch Manchester and move to the Spanish Capital. With Danilo’s agent in Manchester, Van Gaal would hope for the deal to be confirmed as soon as possible.
