The season is turning to be worse from bad for former Manchester United manager David Moyes. The 51 year old manager who is currently unemployed was reportedly questioned by Police officials after he allegedly pushed a man outside a wine bar who questioned his methods at the Red Devils.
Moyes was reportedly enjoying a drink with his friend at the Emporium Wine Bar in Clitheroe, Lancashire, when there was a scuffle involving a 23-year-old local man. Witnesses claim that the 23 year old was smoking when Moyes appeared in the bar.
“The lad made a remark about Manchester United and then he was pushed. The lad then lost his balance and knocked into some glasses that got smashed. He then went back into the bar and a short time later two police officers arrived. They went inside and spoke to David Moyes and then they left.”
Reports from the Telegraph claim that a spokesperson from Lancashire police confirmed they were investigating an allegation of assault.
“Officers attended the bar at about 10pm on Wednesday and it was reported that a 23-year-old local man had been assaulted by a 51-year-old man. He did not require hospital treatment. Inquiries are ongoing and we are speaking to a number of people to try to establish the circumstances. There are a number of differing accounts which we need to work through to try to establish exactly what has happened. No-one has been arrested at this stage.
Moyes has already been linked with the manager’s job at Celtic following Neil Lennon’s decision to quit after three seasons in Glasgow.
