Deal Agreed: Arsenal to pay 19 Million Pounds release clause to sign the in-form striker

Gone are the days when Arsenal were cautious in their transfer approach and were shy of spending big on star players. In recent times, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil have walked through the doors of Emirates and that trend is set to continue after Gunners agreed to pay the £19million release clause for Celta Vigo forward Nolito.

According to Metro, Arsenal are ready to bring the Spanish forward as early as in January after Nolito has scored 7 and assisted 4 goals in 11 appearances so far this season. Nolito is the main reason for Celta’s top 4 push in La Liga this season.

Gunners are set to hand a massive blow to Barcelona, who are also looking to sign the forward in January. However, AS and Marca have claimed in the past that Barca are no longer the financial force they were few seasons back.

The burden of paying huge sums of wages to Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez has taken a toll on the Catalan giants. Therefore, despite getting the transfer ban lifted in January, they cannot go head to head in transfer battles with Premier League giants.

That has handed Arsenal a huge advantage in Nolito chase as Gunners look set to add to their strike force. They sit pretty at the top of Premier League table and if they manage to bring a player like Nolito, Gunners can get ready to end their 10 year Premier League drought.
