Of the many clubs that are ready to shape their squad with an overhaul, Italian manager Antonio Conte will do a lot of it at Chelsea.
Having taken over a Premier League club for the first time, Conte wants to make sure that plays with as strong a squad as possible as it will help him get over the challenges the English domestic league will pose next season.
The likes of Loic Remy, Alexandre Pato, and Radamel Falcao have no real chance of shining at the club after failure in the previous season and this has seen the manager procure the services of Michy Batshuayi to increase his options in attack.
However, reports have now suggested that star striker Diego Costa is looking for a way to move out of the club to go back to Atletico Madrid, his former club.
The Brazil-born Spaniard was a sensation in his first season at Stamford Bridge but faded away in the previous season. Though he showed signs of revival under Guus Hiddink, it is understood that he has the mind set on a move back to Spain this summer.
Madrid-based newspaper AS confirmed earlier today that Costa has already made it clear to the manager Conte and owner Roman Abramovich that he does not want to stay at the club.
It is understood that Costa wants to follow Filipe Luiz to Atletico Madrid with the defender pulling off a similar move from Atletico to Chelsea back to Atleti.
It is also revealed that the striker is ready to publicly state his desire to leave the club but Chelsea are not willing to let him go.
At least till they find an able replacement, which may not be easy, given the number of top European clubs that are in search of a top class striker.
Conte will not really be happy to see his players make a move away from the club but he will know that he will only need players who want to stay at the club and that he can still accumulate a strong squad with players who want to be at Stamford Bridge.
It will be a blow for Chelsea to lose a striker of Costa’s caliber but if they can somehow find an able replacement, Chelsea will not really be bothered about letting him go.
Do you think Chelsea should let Costa go this summer?
