In a sensational news for the football fanatics in India, especially the Gunners, 13 time Premier League Winners and EPL giants Arsenal FC has confirmed that they will tour India in their pre-season to play friendlies against Indian Super League sides Mumbai City FC and FC Goa next year, a source close to Arsenal told Daily Star reported.

The Arsene Wenger side, who are the only team in England to earn the invincibles tag for winning the Premier League by remaining unbeaten throughout the season will play in the sub-continent for the first time in the history.

The hierarchy at The Emirates have targeted India because of the huge rise in popularity of English football since the arrival of a clutch of foreign stars to the ISL.

An Arsenal source said: “India is seen very much as an untapped market in terms of revenue streams. There are more than a billion people in the country, so it doesn’t take a lot of working out that there are lots of opportunities as yet unearthed in that part of the world.”

It is also learnt that the presence of former Arsenal players Robert Pires and Fredrik Ljungburg, who turn out for those two sides made the Gunners to play friendly against them.
