With the attentions of both Liverpool and Manchester City elsewhere this weekend; and the pair, in fact, meeting in the league on Wednesday night, 16 sides took to the field in the Premier League and there was just as much excitement as ever.

With the business end almost upon us, the performances of each player are under scrutiny. Here is the Team of the Week for the 27th round of fixtures with players who have performance even under tremendous pressure:

Goal Keeper:

Heurelho Gomes (Watford):

Coming to the rescue of Flores’ side on more than one occasion, Gomes demonstrated his importance to the side that held on to a point against the Cherries.

Sam Byram (West Ham United):

The West Ham defender was in top form against Sunderland where he made 6 interceptions to help his team hold on to a slender lead.

Branislav Ivanovic (Chelsea):

The Chelsea defender showed some experience in an unfamiliar central defensive position but did some excellent work to keep away the Saints in Chelsea’s 2-1 victory.

Daley Blind (Manchester United):

The Dutchman stuck to his task against the Gunners giving the likes of Walcott and Welbeck no space on the ball and helping his team to all three points on the night.

Craig Dawson (West Bromwich Albion):

The Baggies wing back Dawson showed his mettle against Palace in a game that went down to the wire. He showed no complacency as he stuck to his task and saw off a one goal lead.

Craig Gardner (West Bromwich Albion):

With a goal and an assist, Gardner was a constant menace at the back for Crystal Palace as he tormented them right till the end in the 3-2 victory.

Willian (Chelsea):

The best player for Chelsea this season, Willian was once again at it against the Saints as he dictated the midfield and created a number of chances for his teammates along with an assist.

Connor Wickham (Crystal Palace):

Though unlucky to end on the losing side, Wickham who gave the Baggies a scare with a second half brace almost gave his team a point after Palace were down 3 goals in the first half.

Marko Arnautovic (Stoke City):

The difference between the two sides on the night as Stoke beat Aston Villa, Arnautovic was simply irresistible as he put two past the visitors and gave his side a much-needed victory on the night.

Michail Antonio (West Ham United):

The goal scorer for the Hammers in their 1-0 victory over Sunderland, Antonio cut in from the right wing to produce a curler to beat Mannone. He has been excellent all season for Slaven Bilic’s side.

Marcus Rashford (Manchester United):

In his debut in the Premier League, Rashford added to his two Europa League goals just days ago with another brace this time against the Gunners and announced himself on the big stage.
