Manchester United’s Belgian star to leave on loan to Everton

The Merseyside Blues (Everton) may provide Manchester United young starlet Adnan Januzaj an opportunity to rediscover his lost form. Various reports have indicated that Everton are prepared to take Januzaj on loan for the next season.

Januzaj was arguably United’s best outfield player last season. The youngster marked his arrival with a double against Sunderland. Since then the winger has thrived under the axed United manager David Moyes. That form has earned him an international call-up for Brazil 2014.

However time has changed now and Januzaj is currently experiencing a difficult time under Van Gaal. He has made just eight starts and 12 substitute appearances. Januzaj last started for United in the February 11 win over Burnley.

Januzaj has now become United’s fourth-choice winger, after Ashley Young, Juan Mata and Angel Di Maria. Also with United reportedly showing serious interest on PSV Eindhoven’s Memphis Depay and Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale, Januzaj place may fall further below the pecking order.

Hence, according to ESPN, the Merseysiders who are having a long-standing interest in the 20-year-old have planned to take the Belgian on loan, if Van Gaal makes him available. However, it was reported that United are yet to decide whether Januzaj should be loaned next term.

Everton have used the loan system successfully last season, when Romelu Lukaku, Gerard Deulofeu and Gareth Barry excelled at Goodison Park. Also Roberto Martinez loaned Tom Cleverley from United during his time in charge of Wigan and helped his development to a great extent.

However, the Blue part of Merseyside will also make a decision in the summer on whether to try and sign another winger, as on-loan Aaron Lennon has impressed during his spell at Goodison Park from Tottenham Hotspur.

Januzaj played for United’s Under-21 on Tuesday night and has made six appearances for the second string this season. As a result the Belgian is unable to enjoy regular first team action. Hence, in order to obtain regular first team football to improve with his development, Januzaj may have to move on loan.
