Jurgen Klopp is not yet done with his business in the summer transfer window with still a number of players linked with a move to the club.
But the manager also has to make sure that he lets go all the deadwood in the team that will not have a role to play in the next season.
One such player who has not future at Anfield anymore is Belgian striker Christian Benteke.
Having made the move to Anfield last summer under Brendan Rodgers, Benteke has scored enough goals to warrant another year at Liverpool but his style of play is so different to the new manager Jurgen Klopp that he was not even given a chance to prove himself in the pre-season.
The Belgian has been linked with a move to Crystal Palace in the past with Pardew reportedly ready to pay up to £30m for the striker but a deal fell through for some odd reason and Benteke is still a Liverpool player.
However, Klopp is adamant to let him go this summer and is ready to listen to offers from any club who wants him and Merseyside rivals Everton, are now reportedly interested in his signature.
Everton, who are set to lose Romelu Lukaku, whose release clause touches the £75million, to Chelsea, and are in the market for a top class Premier League striker.
Ronald Koeman, who will need a top class striker to lead his team into the next season is now reportedly eyeing the Belgian striker to replace his national team mate Lukaku at the club.
Benteke is a consistent goalscorer having found the net 42 times in 89 Premier League appearances in his career. He is a proper fit for the English style of play with his strength and ariel abilities but his work rate has often been questioned by the fans and pundits alike.
He has a decent eye for goal but he will take time to adjust to any team in the league and it will be the only thing stopping Everton from meeting his price.
The Toffees are also reportedly receiving French international Loic Remy as a part of their deal with Chelsea for Lukaku and a front force of Remy and Benteke can lift them to places.
However, Liverpool are not ready to sell for anything less than £30m and it is understood that Everton are also rivaled by David Moyes’ Sunderland for Benteke’s signing.
It will be interesting to see who meets his asking price first as Liverpool are ready to sell to any potential buyer.
Do you think Everton should sign Benteke this summer?
