Arsenal are wondering whether or not extend the deals for their midfielders Thomas Rosicky and Mathieu Flamini. Arsenal are set to discuss their contracts before the summer transfer window.
Rosicky, 34 has not played a game for the Gunners since March and is rumored to be a target for Sparta Prague. Arsenal have the luxury of picking players who are much more versatile and mobile than the Czech star.
Other player finding himself on the wrong side of his 30’s is Frenchman Mathieu Flamini, 31 who has found himself being benched ahead of the emerging French star Francis Coquelin.
Bothe players will be without a contract at the end of this season and the club is still not decided on whether to lose the stars on free or extend their stay with the club.
Both of the ageing stars have become bit-part players for the club and perhaps if they want to pursue first team action, it will only come once they move away from the club.
Arsenal are constantly linked with several midfield players for next season which will further limit the playing time for Flamini and Rosicky. It would mean that these ageing stars would be heading for exit this summer.
