FA set to revolutionize managerial rules and regulations by taking this decision

Few footballing fall from grace can match that of Sam Allardyce. In a matter of days, he has fallen from England manager to the subject of multiple allegations.

The Telegraph’s sting operation, which has since affected further coaches, proved the ultimate undoing of ‘Big Sam’. It’s gone a long way to changing the very face of English football and how it is perceived by the public.

Damningly for Allardyce also, though, it appears his punishment is far from over. The FA are currently mulling over a decision that could even see police involvement.

It came from nowhere, but it took just a day to action Allardyce’s fall from grace.

Upon the release of video footage instigating the 61-year-old in conversations regarding the breaking of FA rules, the wheels were set in motion. By the time evening arrived, England and Allardyce had gone their separate ways.

Just one game and less than seventy days into his tenure as England boss, Allardyce had allowed his dream job to dissolve around him.

It proves as much of a detriment to the national team as it does for the man himself, though. The Three Lions were looking to turn their back on the disaster for Euro 2016 under the management of Allardyce.

Consequently, this week’s developments have proven a violent change and the FA may take more action than simply depriving the ex-Sunderland boss of his job.

It is becoming increasingly apparent that Allardyce will face a lengthy ban from football related activities. However, the FA are stalling a final decision on any such punishment until the police have finished their own investigations.

The FA chief executive Martin Glenn explained the situation by stating: “It is realistic he could be charged. The Telegraph are releasing the full transcripts to the police, which is what has to happen, and once we get full access to them we’ll pass them to our integrity unit.

“The decision will be based on the merits of the evidence. You could guess that bringing the game into disrepute might be a possible charge. The punishment could range from a fine to a ban.”

Therefore, it seems that amid a scandal typified by fast-moving developments, the FA are decelerating proceedings before enacting any punishment.

Allardyce, aged 61 already, could see his managerial career ruined by the lengthy ban if it wasn’t damaged beyond repair already. It all culminates in a very bleak outlook for the Englishman.

Then again, the comments Allardyce made simply left the FA no choice and given the embarrassment he has brought upon them, a hearty ban should be expected.

Moreover, it will prove a prominent message to potential successors to watch what they say and to tread with far greater care.
