Ronaldo Named FIFA Best Player Of The Year 2016, Griezmann And Neymar Misses FIFPro World XI

Cristiano Ronaldo has pipped Lionel Messi and Antione Griezmann to win the FIFA Best player of the year award. Carli Lloyd of the United States won the FIFA best women’s player award while Claudio Ranieri won the award for the best coach of the year.
Ronaldo had mentioned that 2016 has been a magnificent year for him. In addition to winning the Champions League with Real Madrid, Euro with Portugal and the Ballon D’Or, this award caps his brilliant year.
This is the first edition of these new awards, which came about as a result of FIFA splitting with France Football, who run the Ballon d’Or.
In total, eight awards. They are:
– The FIFA FIFPro World11:
Neuer, Alves, Ramos, Pique, Marcelo, Modric, Kroos, Iniesta, Ronaldo, Suarez, Messi
The FIFA FifPro XI – Manuel Neuer is the best goalkeeper in the team, followed by the usual list of Ronaldo and Messi. There are four players from Barcelona XI. Andre Iniesta, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez are not available to take the award as they are preparing for a Copa Del Rey match against Athletic Bilbao.

The winners of The Best FIFA Men’s and Women’s Player, and The Best FIFA Men’s and Women’s Coach awards, are determined through a combined voting process, in which 50 per cent of the decision is based on the votes of captains (25 per cent) and head coaches (25 per cent) from national teams all around the globe.
The remaining 50 per cent is split equally between an online public ballot of football fans (25 per cent) and submissions from a selected group of media representatives (25 per cent) from all around the world. The vote took place between Friday 4 November and Tuesday 22 November 2016.
