Robin Van Persie’s time at Manchester United has come to an end after Guardian believes that the Dutch striker has already agreed personal terms with Fernabache ahead of a 4-year contract.
According to Guardian, Manchester United are considering selling the striker for a fee of mere £5million. Having joined United back in 2012-13 for a fee of £22.5million, Van Persie became an instant hit with the Old Trafford crowd.
In his first season at club, Van Persie scored 30 goals to help United seal their 13th Premier League and 20th English division championship.
However, with just 12 months in, a bombshell was dropped on Van Persie as Sir Alex Ferguson decided to quit the club. That led to an immediate demise in form for Van Persie and ever since he has not been the striker who was bought from Arsenal.
Under David Moyes, Van Persie was pushed to limits by the extreme training regimes and he started to suffer constant injuries and it limited his impact on the team. Following Moyes was his former National team manager Louis Van Gaal.
It looked like Van Persie would find his form but under Van Gaal as well, the striker struggled to get back to full fitness and lost his place to the England captain Wayne Rooney.
According Turkish newspaper, TurkzZ former Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt has played an important role in convincing Van Persie to make a switch to the Turkish side.
Another reason for Manchester United to sell the striker is because Van Persie’s contract makes him liable for a £4million bonus as he would have run down his initial 4-year contract with Manchester United.
Having said that, United must handle the situation with care as they have recently decided to let go off Radamel Falcao and Van persie’s exit would mean that only Wayne Rooney will be left at the club who has scored handful number of goals for the club.
At present, Van Persie seems to have agreed a 4-year contract with Fernabache and transfer is expected to be announced next week, but we are still awaiting an official confirmation from either club or the player.
