In-form Tottenham striker Harry Kane has won the Premier League player of the month award for February 2015. Kane edged ahead of Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho who had an equally influential month for his side.
Harry Kane scored 4 goals in February helping Tottenham win 2 of their 4 matches while he rescued a vital draw against West Ham after being 2-0 down late in the game. Tottenham’s only defeat in the month came against Liverpool where the Anfield side beat Spurs 3-2.
Kane had a close competition with Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho who has been turning up man of the match performances week-in-week-out for the reds. Wins against Manchester City, Southampton and Tottenham in February has brought them back in contention to finish in top4 this season. Coutinho sealed Liverpool’s win against City with one of the best goals of the season as well.
Elsewhere, West Brom’s Tony Pulis received the Manager of the month honor as he guided West Brom to 2 home wins and 2 away draw in the month of February. Since taking over at the club, Pulis has turned the fortunes for the baggies. Premier League safety has been achieved with ease and flair by Pulis and now the club can look to finish as high as in the top half of the table if they continue their current form.
Tony Pulis registered a shock win against Southampton while after going 2-0 down he managed to pull his team to get a 2-2 draw at Turf Moore against Burnley. Pulis is widely renowned as one of the best managers of the league and this award truly justifies that statement.
