Arsenal and Arsene Wenger missed a decent chance to go top of the Premier League table this weekend as they took just a point against North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
However, the manager will be happy with his team’s performances in the first 11 games this season and will hope that they can continue their good work until the end of the season.
The manager is in the last year of his contract at the club and he is ready to take it until the end before deciding on extending it, but that is not the only contract that Arsenal will want to be extended this season.
The Gunners recently opened talks with German international Mesut Ozil over a contract extension, with the 28-year old currently in the form of his life.
It was later reported that Ozil had a few demands to put pen to paper but the latest story from the Mirror revealed that the German international is ready to sign a new contract extension with the club.
According to the report, Ozil will sign a 5-year deal, worth £160,000-a-week. It is reported that the Arsenal hierarchy are relatively sure that he will put pen to paper in the upcoming days.
Ozil is not the only star at the club that will sign a contract anytime soon.
Other reports suggest that Spanish full-back Hector Bellerin is also going to sign a new contract extension in the upcoming days.
The young full-back has been one of the most consistent players for Arsenal for some time now and is growing on to become the best full-back in the league. His pace and directness make many a defense cringe and he is a great player, who suits the style for the Gunners.
He is a top class player and has attracted interests from the likes of Barcelona recently and Wenger has now acted on the rumor and is ready to sign him for the long term.
The 21-year old has snubbed a chance to go back to the Camp Now and has agreed to sign a fresh contract at the club, that will keep him at the Emirates for a long time.
He is a superb player but he has his own weaknesses that will go away in time. So it will be important for Bellerin to stay consistent and help his side on both ends of the field.
Alexis Sanchez remains the only star at the club whose contract ends anytime soon and it will not come as a surprise if the Gunners announce all three signings before the turn of the season.
