Liverpool’s stocks continue to rise despite their crushing defeat against Manchester United. As a part of their initiative to expand their reach in South-east Asia, Liverpool have signed a partnership deal with Myanmar’s energy drink Cobra.
This is followed by the news of Liverpool deciding to hold their 2015 pre-season tour in Malaysia as well. Liverpool have eyed south-east Asia as a huge potential to develop their brand and penetration.
This deal will see Cobra become the official energy drink for Liverpool in Myanmar. The Anfield based club have agreed to let Cobra use their brand and star players to promote the energy drink in Myanmar.
Cobra have also confirmed the news that they will be selling specially designed Liverpool-themed bottles to penetrate the markets easily. Cobra energy drink will be distributed by the Myanmar distribution group and the company has decided to use “Real Champions Never Give Up” as the tagline for their campaign.
This partnership deal has been welcomed by both Liverpool and Cobra energy drink. Billy Hogan, chief commercial officer at Liverpool FC, said:
“Liverpool Football Club is one of the most popular football clubs in Myanmar, which is very much a nation of football fanatics.
“We’re really excited to partner with Cobra Energy Drink to bring our fans in Myanmar closer to the club.”
Continuing the conversation Lyka C. Frontuna, senior country brand manager of Cobra Energy Drink, said:
“Liverpool FC is one of the largest global brands and this exclusive partnership demonstrates our commitment to help quench the thirst of football fans in Myanmar by providing new opportunities for fans to watch Barclays Premier League games involving Liverpool”
