Since taking over the Old Trafford outfit, Jose Mourinho has made a number of changes to the squad, adding some star players to the squad in the offseason.

He has also let a number of players in the squad leave in the two transfer windows this season and it now looks like he is not done with his business yet.

The Red Devils let the likes of Memphis Depay and Morgan Schneiderlin, two of the fringe players i9nteh squad, leave in January and reports today claim that they are set to offload another star player before the end of the month.

The transfer window in China is open until Tuesday next week and an exclusive from leading media outlet Yahoo now claims that he could be out of the Old Trafford before the deadline day.

The English international, who is currently the top goal scorer for Manchester United in their history, is still one of the most exciting players in world football but Jose Mourinho has not used him regularly.

Rooney has previously revealed that he is happy to fight for his place in the side at least till the end of the season but it is now understood that Manchester United have given the green light for his sale and that it is now up to the player to finalize a move this week.

Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao and Beijing Guoan have been linked with mega-money moves for Rooney, and are ready to pay record wages for him and this has seen the striker lean towards an exit.

“Wayne has been told he can leave the club now if he wishes, but a lot needs to be finalized before the deadline next week,” the sources from Yahoo reveal.

“The manager has told him that he can stay until the end of this season and fight for his place, but there is a feeling he may make the move now,” they added.

Rooney is currently contracted with the club till 2018 but it is understood that having failed to cement a place in the side, he is now looking for the financial offerings in China.

Rooney is also linked with a move to Everton at the end of the season, that is, if a move to China does not go through before the deadline day.

Born and bought up in Liverpool, Rooney, has a special place for Everton in his heart, as it is his boyhood club and if he is unable to manufacture an exit this week, he will surely look to get back to the Goodison Park at the end of the season.
