Watford star Odion Ighalo has expressed his desire to join English giants Manchester United as he terms a move to Old Trafford a ‘dream move’. The striker has accepted the fact that declining an offer from the Red Devils would be just too hard for him. It is rumoured that Man United are planning a deal for the Watford star and the striker says he would find it difficult to turn down the offer.
Watford has declared that the club does not intend on selling their key player under any situation. However, Ighalo has stated that it would be a huge task for the striker to decline an offer from his boyhood club. He says, ‘’There has been speculation from Spain and Italy but I’ve played there and now want to play in England. I don’t think I will be moving but I’m not sure I’d say no if United called.’’
“They were my team growing up. I loved watching Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke on TV.
“They were my idols and playing at Old Trafford has always been a dream.”
In December, Watford manager Quique Sanchez Flores said:”I think Ighalo is completely clever, he chose five months ago the option to stay here with Watford.
“He chose to stay here because he imagined something special for him.
“It’s very clever, he knew perfectly it was the best option for him. I think he’ll finish the season with Watford after that anybody knows.”
So it seems that the manager is confident about retaining Ighalo at Watford but the striker surely does have a soft spot for the English giants. If Manchester United lodge a bid for the striker, the deal looks very likely to go ahead.
