Jamie Vardy to be offered a new deal

Hopes of Several Premier league elites including Chelsea and Liverpool has taken a hard block as Jamie Vardy is on the verge of signing a contract extension for Leicester City. Vardy is currently earning 40,000 pounds per week and is expected receive a new deal concerning mammoth wage bill, as reported by The Guardian. Leicester City are currently leading the Premier League table, and much of the thanks must go to the Englishman who scored 16 Premier League goals already.

The 29-year-old striker has also broken the record of most consecutive goal-scoring games, earlier set by Manchester United striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy.  Leicester City management is hoping that this lucrative deal will keep the talismanic striker at the King Power Stadium until 2019.

The striker only signed a contract extension the summer before the last, and was regarded as a Championship-side average footballer who is yet to feature in Premier League. But he has earned much praise and admiration from the fans and critics after performing well for the club. His heroics also earned him four England caps, though he has not scored for England yet.

Jamie Vardy joined Leicester City in 2012 for a reported fee of just one million pounds, and was enduring a mediocre life until second part of last season. He has since scored 20 goals, which helped Leicester City in avoiding relegation last season, to raising to the top spot of English football. Claudio Ranieri, the Leicester City manager is always blatant about his good words for Vardy, along with the playmaker Rihad Mahrez, who is enjoying great chemistry with Vardy on the field.

Leicester City’s surprising title run will be decided once and for good in next few weeks as they face Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal in consecutive games, starting from tonight.
