The sacking of Jose Mourinho from Chelsea has apparently had different effects on either part in this festive time. The Portuguese manager who was relieved of his duties after the loss to Leicester City has reportedly moved on and is set to relax with his family for the holidays.
Jose Mourinho has moved into a £7,500-a-week villa in the plush Nannai Resort and Spa in Brazil, according to local reports. The controversial manager is set to spend his holidays in a private secluded villa with its own pool and gazebo as he is now without a managerial job.
He is said to be jetting to spend New Year with wife Tami and children Matilde and Jose Jr at the Nannai Resort ans Spa near the tourist town of Porto de Galinhas in Pernambuco, north-eastern Brazil.
The luxury resort is on the picture-postcard beach of Muro Alto – ‘Tall Wall’ in Portuguese because of the 500-ft long reef that looks as if it has been man-made because of its perfect wall-like nature.
As well as its own swimming pool, the luxury hideaway has two Jacuzzis, one on the ground-floor veranda where guests can chill out in a gazebo and another on the first-floor looking on to the sea.
Mourinho is hell bent on keeping low profile after his agent Jorge Mendes confirmed that he was on a holiday. Talking to a tourist who wanted to click a picture with him, Jose came up with a snide remark. He replied ‘Only in presence of my lawyer’ when asked to pose for a picture.
Aware of the presence of Mourinho in the city, a local football team known as the worst team in the world for its 55 game losing streak in the 80’s, Ibis Sports Club offered the former Chelsea boss a two-year contract which included a monthly payment of a food hamper, bonuses for each game it lost, a wage increase every time it was thrashed and a P45 if it won a title.
A spokesman for the club joked: “We can’t guarantee his continuance in our club if we have two wins on the trot or win a title.”
Jose Mourinho is known for spending holidays with his family was pictured at different destinations around the world such as Dubai, Paris and New York. The Portuguese has reportedly traveled to Pernambuco with his family after spending Christmas eve with his elderly father Jose Mourinho Felix.
In October, Mourinho admitted that Felix was in a difficult situation but said that he was recovering after the difficult period.
Jorge Mendes in an interview with Sky Sports Italia was talking about Jose Mourinho’s future. Mendes felt comfortable about the Portuguese getting in a job because he is the best in the world.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Mendes said, “Mourinho is now in Brazil. Let’s see what will happen when he returns. Jose has to feel comfortable because he is the No 1 in the world.”
Sure looks like Chelsea have let go their only chance of regaining some pride this season after the dismal start.
