Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has been named Premier League manager of the season. The award comes hardly as a surprise since Chelsea finished as the Premier League champions with ease.

Mourinho won the season-ending awards despite failing to win a single Manager of the month award. Mourinho beat his fellow compatriots Ronald Koeman, Garry Monk, Nigel Pearson and Arsene Wenger who were nominated for the top manager honor of the season.

This is Mourinho’s third Premier League manager of the year award in 5 seasons in Premier League. His other two awards came in 2004-05 & 2005-06 seasons where Chelsea finished as Premier League champions as well.

This award has helped Chelsea make a clean sweep of seasonal awards with Eden Hazard named Premier League Player of the Year after a wonderful season.

Hazard enjoyed his best scoring season at Stamford Bridge, scoring 19 goals in the season. Chelsea’s dominant season was evident in PFA’s team of the season which featured 6 Chelsea players.

Chelsea would look to replicate their superb season under Jose Mourinho and bring in able re-enforcements to successfully defend their title next season.
