Juventus are believed to be leading the race to sign Xherdan Shaqiri from Bayern Munich. According to the reports from Sky Italia and Gazzetta Dello Sport, Juventus will launch a January loan bid to sign the talented Swiss International with an option to buy in the Summer Transfer Window.
This news will come as a major blow for Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham who have been credited with an interest in the player and were hoping to prepare a bid in January.
Juventus manager Max Allegri has recently expressed his interest in signing a creative force to boss his side’s chances in the league and the Champions League.
Players like Wesley Sneijder, Hatem Ben Arfa have been linked with Juventus in recent weeks but as per Sky Italia, looks like Shaqiri and Juventus will be best fit for each other as Shaqiri has been quite vocal with his lack of first team opportunities under Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich.
Bayern Munich have not yer renewed Shaqiri’s contract which is due to expire in 2016, thus considering the fact Bayern would look to maximize from this deal. Bayern are expected to quote a price in region of 15-20 Million for the Swiss International and given how Juventus are looking to bolster their front line, this fee would be a feasible one to afford for Allegri’s side.
Max Allegri was asked about the possible signing of Shaqiri and his response sent positive signals about the possibility of this deal happening over next few weeks, Allegri was heard saying: “Who would I sign for January? Well, a trequartista wouldn’t go amiss in this squad…” Allegri told Tuttosport.
Juventus are also monitoring Barcelona’s Martin Montoya, who has been shown the door by Barcelona manager Luis Enrique after the Barcelona manager told the player that, “He has no future at the Catalan Club”. Ever since Montoya has been looking for a new club and Juventus are keen on signing the struggling right back.
